Easy Lunch at the Steinhalle

Chef Markus Arnold runs his restaurant with two distinct concepts: in the evenings it’s fine dining, and at lunchtime you can choose from burgers, ramen and beer-fed pork. GaultMillau has selected his Easy Lunch at the Steinhalle restaurant in Bern as the POP of the Year.

Urs Heller, editor-in-chief of GaultMillau, says: “Markus Arnold impressed us on two different levels. He’s the best chef in Bern, and his sophisticated menus took us on a journey to Japan or to Stockholm. Lunchtimes at the Steinhalle are indeed an “easy” affair. But while his lunch dishes appear simple at first glance, they are actually of incredibly high quality. Arnold is Bern’s king of POP.”

If you go for an Easy Lunch in the stylish restaurant hall or on the terrace under the trees, you could choose a burger with a sensational sesame sauce, or a ramen soup with homemade wheat noodles and pork from Wauwil. The Steinhalle is quite simply the place to be, and it also offers generous breakfasts.
