I have been very fortunate to travel the world doing events as a bartender – pre Covid-19, of course. Over a two-year period, I participated in about 120 different activations in 70 different countries. During this time, I was able to visit some of the best bars and restaurants in the world and one thing became very clear to me. A great experience is not defined by the quality of the food on a plate or the age of the whisky in your glass, but simply by the warmth of hospitality. Some of my favourite and most cherished experiences have been in dive bars in the US, not 5-star hotel bars or 3-star Michelin restaurants. Great hospitality is the most wonderful thing about the world of food and beverage and giving guests a great experience should be the thing we champion most!
