Swiss chef included in the list of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants for the 7th time.

For the seventh year in succession, Andreas Caminada has been included in the list of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants, which has just been announced in New York.

The list of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants, is published annually. Andreas Caminada is included in the latest list for the seventh time in succession, this time in 47th place, and is the only Swiss chef apart from Daniel Humm to receive this accolade, reflecting his consistent performance in haute cuisine, as well as his creativity.

Philosophy of taste
The essence is simplicity – pure taste. Taking his inspiration from French cuisine and using regional products, Andreas Caminada believes it is important that food retains its original taste. Based on this premise, which seems simple at first sight, Andreas Caminada creates dishes with his own distinctive signature: He often spends weeks fine-tuning his ingeniously refined combinations of taste and presentation, which delight both professionals and guests, until a perfect composition of dishes is ready for his menu. This perfection is one reason why his establishment is listed as one of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. Being selected one of the world’s 50 best restaurants again is a tremendous accolade for me and my team. At the same time, the commendable dedication of everyone involved helps to ensure that guests from all over the world are made aware of our creative work. Because what is most important to us is the satisfaction and judgement of our guests,” says Caminada. His aim is to constantly create culinary surprises – even for his loyal clients. The perfect setting for this culinary fiesta of the senses is Schauenstein Schloss Restaurant Hotel, a historic castle in Fürstenau, Switzerland, the smallest town in the world. In his 13 years in Schauenstein Schloss Restaurant Hotel, he has gradually converted and extended the building. The result is a skilful synergy of traditional and modern elements. Alongside the restaurant and the Remisa, Caminada’s establishment now includes a boutique hotel with three double rooms and three suites, and has long been a mecca for gourmets, a refuge from day-to-day life.

Constant development
Andreas Caminada is living proof that the world’s leading chefs cannot rest on their laurels. Last year, he launched his second restaurant brand “IGNIV by Andreas Caminada” in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland. A fine-dining experience where time, pleasure and refined cuisine take centre-stage. He also established his own foundation, “Fundaziun Uccelin”, last year to foster talented chefs and service staff. That is something that is very close to Caminada’s heart. He wants to pass on some of the experience and skills he has learned. That is an expression of his passion for his profession, which he describes as the “most beautiful craft”. Given his dynamic spirit, we can expect to be treated to many new and visionary developments. Caminada’s personal career, success and imagination reflect the attributes required to be included in the list of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants for so many years.
